Your file never leaves this device. Registration computes a SHA-256 fingerprint of the file locally, in your browser. The file itself is never uploaded, never transmitted, and never stored on Alltio’s servers — the registry holds only the fingerprint, your details, and your terms. Alltio takes no custody of your work, ever.
You can verify this yourself: once this page has loaded, disconnect from the internet — the fingerprint still computes.
Photographs, video, and audio need a fingerprint that survives platform re-encoding. It is designed and on the roadmap — we don’t claim these media until it ships.
This becomes the registry record: who owns it, where it lives, and how it may be licensed.
Keep this record — it is your verifiable proof of registration. The record ID is a cryptographic digest of everything above, bound to the timestamp shown.
What this is: a founding-registry record — a self-attested, timestamped statement of authorship and terms, fingerprint-bound to your work. It is useful today in provenance disputes and takedown requests, and founding registrants get first access as licensing goes live. What this is not (yet): a payment promise or a verified chain-of-title — ownership verification is performed before any work enters licensing.
Do you see my work when it is scanned? No. The scan runs in your browser, on your computer. We receive the fingerprint, nothing else.
Is this copyright registration? No. Registering with Alltio does not replace registration with a copyright office, and copyright in your work exists whether or not you register anywhere.
What does it cost? Registration and lookup are free, permanently. Alltio earns when licensing and settlement happen, not before.
