This page does two jobs. It is the terms of use for alltio.com, and it is a worked example of the thing we ask everyone else to publish: a domain that states, in prose and in machine-readable form, what AI systems may and may not do with what it publishes.
AI-use terms for alltio.com
Our robots.txt allows every named AI agent. That is deliberate, and it is also not a licence. Allowing a crawler through the door tells it nothing about what it may then do — which is the gap this section exists to close, and the gap most of the web still has.

Those terms cover pages published on alltio.com. They do not cover works registered through Alltio by other people — each of those carries its own terms, stated by its own owner, resolvable through the Lookup API.
The same terms, machine-readable
A page a human reads is not enough, because the systems that need these terms do not read pages at fetch time. The same declaration is published at /.well-known/alltio.json, in the format documented on how discovery works.
Two fields in that file are currently null, deliberately. signature is null because a declaration is meant to be signed to prevent third parties fabricating one in your name, and a placeholder signature would defeat the property the field exists for. assets is empty because Alltio has not registered its own works — listing works that are not registered would be the exact overclaim this page is here to avoid. Both are visible to-dos rather than silent omissions.
Using this website
The content of alltio.com — text, diagrams, specifications and code samples — belongs to Alltio, Inc. unless stated otherwise. The Lookup API specification and the page embed grammar are published so they can be implemented; implementing them is encouraged and needs no permission.
The site is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be available without interruption, and specifications published here are drafts that change. Where we link to another organisation’s site or specification, we are not responsible for its content.
The registry service
Registering a work with Alltio creates a timestamped, independently held record that at a given moment you asserted ownership of a specific file and stated your terms. The full boundary of what that record does and does not do is set out on the registration page, and it is worth reading before you rely on one. In short:
- An Alltio record is not copyright. You own that from the moment you create the work; no registry grants it, including ours.
- An Alltio record does not create eligibility for U.S. statutory damages or attorney’s fees. That requires timely registration with the U.S. Copyright Office under 17 U.S.C. § 412, and nothing substitutes for it.
- We record that you made a claim. We do not adjudicate whether it is true. Every record shows its verification tier so a reader can weigh it.
- No settlement rail exists yet. A record is not a payment or a promise of one.
You are responsible for having the right to register what you register. We may correct or annotate a record where a claim is shown to be false, and we publish the correction rather than deleting the history.

Changes, and how to reach us
We will change these terms as the service changes. The version in force is the one published here, dated at the top. Material changes to the AI-use terms will be reflected in the machine-readable declaration at the same time.
